To say that this has been a wonderful year for my clients is an understatement. If you were to meet them I know you would come to adore them as much as I do. We all have endured some challenges but over the last couple of years the visibility, growth recognition, transformation and growth is nothing less than commendable and awe inspiring. Today the spot light is on the latest AIN: Accessories In The Nude Competition Winner Deidra Hardin. Who birthed CopperSignatures art wear during the "meantime" experience of her waiting on "THE CALL" for a heart transplant. She mentions, "I found jewelry making to be my self-prescribed therapy of convenience. Artwork that I could do in the car while driving back and forth to the hospital, sitting in the waiting room areas or lying in the hospital beds. I could feel beautiful wearing it through this ugly
period of uncertainties. It is my spirit lifter. Copper was the metal of choice for its natural anti-inflammatory healing properties. A health benefit for me as I wore my artwork. They became a visual log of my prayers and storytellers of my journey. The chaotic twists and turns that were happening with my health became the twist and spiral detailed design structures with copper wire. Pounding the metal to create texture and hearing the metal clinging on the steel plate was an excellent way to release my frustrations. The beads and found objects helped to express the emotion within the piece. Fused together they became sculptural art pieces that could be adorned or framed on the wall. From my pain came purpose. I dedicate every piece I make to my heart donor; Casey. For without his loving sacrifice, I wouldn't be able to tell our story."
AIN: Accessories In The Nude is an Amazing platform that is fueled by faith, operates on purpose - to help push passions and is underwritten by Love. The platform stands as a testament of what it means to progress, thrive and strive to reach its maximum potential in the mist of challenges and support of others in their quest to do the same. This year's announcement of the 2016 AIN: Accessories in the Nude Accessory Competition winner will happen in Great Gatsby Style August 20th at the African American Museum of Dallas. To date this year's highly anticipated event will be Hosted by Dede McGuire of K104’s Dede in the Morning. Doors open to the press and VIP ticket holders at 6:30pm the fashion showcase will begin promptly at 8pm.
This year’s Accessory Design competition took place Saturday April 20t, 2016 at the Gold Room and the contestant’s intricate designs and textures had our expert panel of judges in awe. This years fashion showcase will leave attendees at the edge of their seats as fashion designers from across the Nation will present some of their latest collections and accessories just before the AIN 2016 Accessory Design Competition winner is announced. Only a few points separated this year’s champion from the other contestants.

AIN series of events was founded by Meko Krout and began in 2008 and serves as a platform for established and aspiring fashion designers that provides a forum for designers, models, and buyers to network, learn, inspire and grow. Currently AIN functions as a three part series that consist of a three part event: Business Seminar will give business owners, and accessory designers valuable knowledge regarding new and effective practices for their business from top industry pros.
