ABOUT RACHAEL YVONNE DAVIS, MISS TEXAS PLUS AMERICA 2013 PLATFORM: SURRENDER TO CARE
Platform | Surrender to Care: Mobilizing a Renaissance of Caring Adults and Youth to become Architects of Peace, Hope and Encouragement in our Global Community.
The notion behind my platform comes from the observation that that there are core issues facing our communities that include Youth Outreach, Education, Hunger Prevention, Domestic Violence, Homelessness, Employment, Economic Development, Health & Wellness, Environmental Protection, Historical and Global Awareness.
When we choose to "Surrender to Care" we submit to compassion, we stand on truth and we operate from a place of love. We accept responsibility for the role we have played in past and present paradigms that have resulted in us operating in the state and degree that we are today. When we "Surrender to Care" we move and strive to become better stewards of all that that we have been given and work to reach our maximum potential and unite to help others around us do the same.
When we unite to address and positively impact these key platforms we, become more than superficial students; we begin to deconstruct the paradigms that led us to this state in the first place. Then we move to entertain the notion that from this place we do, in fact, have the power and authority within ourselves to debunk the impossible. I know that when this is collectively understood and achieved all of humanity is enhanced and uplifted.
One way I have been lead to fulfill my own life's purpose and the purpose of my platform is by working as an advocate and volunteer recruiter with United Way. To encourage individuals to become volunteer readers, tutors and mentors inside and outside of the classroom.
